Introducing the Stanwood Cannons!

As select baseball programs around the region are putting the final touches on their 2019 seasons and beginning to look towards the 2020 season, it's the perfect time for us to announce that Stanwood Youth Baseball, a feeder program to Stanwood High School Baseball, will be playing the 2020 season under the Stanwood Cannons name, and will be expanding from just an 11u and 14u team in 2019, to five full teams between 10u and 14u.

There has always been a lot of baseball talent here in Stanwood, and while our community has a strong Little League presence, there has been a lack of additional development opportunities for those kids that want to play additional baseball around the Little League experience, or even in the years leading into High School, and as a result, we have seen kids either head to other communities to play baseball, or stop playing altogether. Our goal is to supplement the already strong commitment to the great game of baseball here in Stanwood, and provide additional opportunities for those kids looking for more in order to keep them playing better and longer, ultimately setting them up for success at the high school level!

Why the name "Cannons"?
While our High School team plays under the Spartan umbrella, our summertime American Legion team has long played under the Cannons name with the green and silver, and this felt like the perfect opportunity for us to embrace that development lineage as we provide opportunities for our youth to develop with the ultimate goal of one day playing Spartan Baseball at the High School.
