USSSA 10u All-Americans

From 10u Coach Jeff Perry:

I'm excited and proud to announce that two of the 10U Cannons will be representing the program at the national stage.  Jaxson Beard (Captain, SS, P) and Dean Fagan (3B, P) were selected to represent the Northwest (WA, OR, ID, HI, AK, CA) amongst the top 36 players.  The USSSA All American games will take place in Viera, FL at the USSSA headquarters from 7/26 - 8/1.  The goal of the games isto bring athletes together from all over the country to learn, compete and succeed on the diamond.  The first few days are skills evaluations and then athletes will be placed on teams and begin a tournament bracket.  The Games will be streaming on www.USSSAlive.com.

I have had the pleasure of coaching these boys both at 9U and 10U levels.

Jaxson Beard (Cedar Home Elementary '27) is one of the most passionate and dedicated players I've ever known in my 35+ years of being involved in this game.  Rarely will you find the kid without a baseball bat in his hands during the spring and summer (if it isn't a bat, it's a fishing rod).  He has a smooth and powerful swing and we've developed power to all fields this year which is impressive for his age.  He also has been working on switch hitting and his left-handed swing might be better than his right-handed swing and we are about ready to test in games.  On the mound, he is a tough competitor and powerful pitcher.  The 10U players elected Jaxson as a team captain and really no one else is more deserving. He is constantly promoting and keeping his teammates engaged.

Dean Fagan (Arlington Christian School '27) is probably one of our most fierce competitors.  He pushes himself and his teammates constantly.  He possesses an athletic ability that is quickly turning him into a 6 tool, high caliber player.  He can hit for power and average, has a powerful and accurate arm, is one of the fastest kids on the team and has a baseball acumen that is truly impressive for the age.  Often his teammates and their parents are in awe at his ability to crush the ball.  He plays a lock down third base, often impressing the other team.  He gets out and competes with the best of the pitchers in the area and is a great complement to Jaxson on the mound.

These two are the core of our team.  I'm excited to hear about their experience this year and the additional drive it will give them and their teammates to continue the journey of success.
